Update (07/07/20): West Sussex County Council’s (‘WSCC’s’) Planning Committee have approved a 2 year planning permission extension which will expire on 31 March 2022. UKOG intends to use the extension period to evaluate future Kimmeridge well and test results, which are planned by both the Company and other operators, before deciding whether to drill a further sidetrack and test the Broadford Bridge-1 well.

UKOG has drilled a test well into the Kimmeridge Clay shale formation which has previously been targeted at Balcombe, Horse Hill and Brockham.

The site can be hard to find, this is the postcode for the Broadford Bridge junction: RH14 9EB

UK Oil and Gas (UKOG) one of the companies behind the Horse Hill oil well near Gatwick, has done a deal with Celtique Energie and Magellan to acquire 100% of PEDL234. This includes extensions to planning and environmental permissions to drill the Broadford Bridge exploration well.

As of September 2014 the site had been constructed and the companies had 3 years to drill. Work stopped when Celtique and Magellan were in legal dispute over the site.
