North Yorks. Fracking Update – Tues 19th Sept, 2017show details

Preparations have begun for hydraulic fracturing tests at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire, with the fracking company trying to bring equipment onto the site at Kirby Misperton, and the community mobilising to resist. Large numbers of people have gathered outside the gates and there is now an ongoing blockade of the site. This has been met with predictable police repression and a number of arrests, but in the face of this the community is standing strong. There is a long running camp nearby, Kirby Misperton Community Protection Camp (Facebook), supporting resistance at Kirby Misperton, as well as a small camp (Facebook) outside the fracking site gates.
