Lancashire Fracking Tests – Up To 40 Million Gallons Of Fresh Water Polluted
Cuadrilla Resources are planning the largest fracking tests to date in Lancashire. Each site will require between 20 and 40 million gallons of fresh water that will be polluted with heavy metals, radioactive elements and toxic compounds and chemical.
WHEREVER YOU LIVE IN THE UK YOU CAN TAKE ACTION TO STOP FRACKING, FIND OUT HOW…
There are four sites already earmarked for fracking waste in the UK:
- Bran Sands Treatment Works Middlesbrough (Northumbrian Water)
- Knostrop Treatment Works Leeds (FCC Environmental)
- Valley Works Stoke-On-Trent (Castle Environmental)
- Kings Cliffe Landfill Peterborough (Augean)
Vast quantities of toxic and radioactive waste are produced by fracking. In the U.S. hundreds of billions of gallons of liquid waste is overwhelming the limited capacity of treatment plants which cannot remove all the contaminants. Thousands of spills and illegal dumping is contaminating land, waterways and groundwater with a wide range of toxic and carcinogenic chemicals. Download waste flyers here…
