Update June 2016: Rathlin Energy have secured an Environmental Permit & HAP have started the archaeological survey.

Planning expires five years from the date of permission on the 16th June 2020.

Under the terms of planning permission, granted on 4 June 2015, Rathlin Energy must carry out an archaeological survey at the wellsite, overseen by Humberside Archaeological Partnership. Rathlin Energy has permission to drill up to two boreholes to a depth of 2,100m to explore for gas, and possibly oil, in Permian age rocks. More details.
