Nottinghamshire Community Rejects IGas Fracking Plans
A survey organised by Misson parish council confirms that fracking company IGas has no social licence to operate in the area. Of 396 residents (76% of the parish population) who took the survey only 4% (14 people) were in favour. IGas have applied for a Mining Waste Permit, objections can be submitted until the 8th March here…
IGas has not yet received planning permission for fracking at the site but has already started work drilling up to 12 groundwater monitoring boreholes.
“Given that these boreholes will only be necessary if IGas are given permission to carry out exploratory drilling… it is our view that the decision to approve these boreholes amounts to pre-determination of any subsequent planning applications”
