Challenge the agencies responsible for Fracking Yorkshire
The Oil and Gas Authority (issue fracking licences), The Environment Agency (issue permits for the production of fracking waste), The Health and Safety Executive (check well designs and receive notifications and reports from operators), Public Health England (says the risks to public health from fracking are low), Natural England (give advice to minerals planning authorities on fracking application) and East Riding of Yorkshire Council (issue planning permissions for fracking) are hosting the event at the Driffield Methodist Church, Middle Street North, Driffield, from 2pm to 7pm on Wednesday 23 March.
Statement from Frack Free East Yorkshire:
Frack Free East Yorkshire are delighted that a bunch of public agencies are hosting a drop-in event in Driffield to engage with the public about fracking. However, they are rather stunned that it was announced with less than a week’s notice. Such an important event should surely have deserved proper publicity, 6 days isn’t even enough time to be reported in the most read local paper. All welcome…
