MYTH BUSTING! Fracking is not a pathway to UK energy security
An average shale gas well produces 1 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas, an average coal bed methane well (CBM) produces half of that. Divide that by UK gas consumption and you realise that we’d need to be drilling 3,500 new fracking wells each and every year FOREVER to meet demand.
See average shale gas and CBM production figures from U.S. here: http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/

The most significant factor in what happens next is building a community response in this area. If we can be of any assistance please email outreach@frack-off.org or call 07858 614861.
