Beleaguered fracking company looking to side-step Lancashire resdents…
Earlier this year fracking company Cuadrilla Resources came up against enormous community opposition in Lancashire and 2 of their flagship UK fracking projects were rejected by the County Council. This was a major blow the UK industry as a whole. Now the company are appealing those decisions…
Four planning appeals linked to the fracking applications have been lodged:
- APP/Q2371/W/15/3134385 Refusal of permission to drill, frack and test up to four wells at Roseacre Wood
- APP/Q2371/W/15/3134386 Refusal of permission to drill, frack and test up to four wells at Preston New Road
- APP/Q2371/W/15/3130923 Refusal of permission for a monitoring array at and around Preston New Road
- APP/Q2371/W/15/3130924 Conditions attached to the approval of permission for a monitoring array at and around Roseacre Wood
All four will be dealt with together at one inquiry, currently scheduled to start on 9th February 2016 and last for 24 days. The planning inspector will then prepare a report but the decision will be made by the Secretary of State for energy. Read more…
A judicial review of the some aspects of the way the decisions were made has also been launched by local campainers.
