A great opportunity to hone your action skills for more weeks of United Resistance and the upcoming Reclaim the Power camp and actions.
All welcome! You can come for the whole weekend or just pick a session that interests you.
Vegan wraps will be provided for Lunch, alternatively, you can bring your own.

11.00 – 12.30 Intro to direct action
What inspires, motivates or concerns you about taking direct action? A chance to explore what direct action involves, what impacts it can have, and how you feel about it!
1.30 – 3.00 Lock-ons, blockades and occupations
A chance to practise taking up space, and staying where you want to be! Includes having a go with equipment commonly used in protests, plus looking for creative new ideas…
3.30 – 5.00 Assertiveness training
Protests often bring us face to face with people who want to stop us – police, security guards and workers in the companies we’re opposing. A chance to practise standing up for your rights – and de-escalating tension to stay safe!

1.30 – 3.00 What happens if I get arrested?
From the process at the police station to potential consequences if you get convicted.
3.30 – 5 How to plan a kick-ass action
How to put together an action plan that really has an impact – and works for your group!
