Cuadrilla’s Fracking Web Of Destruction: Site Construction Companies
The web of companies involved in the construction of Cuadrilla Resources’ fracking site at Preston New Road in Lancashire continues to grow but so does the community resistance to the destructive project. Site construction is now well past the allotted 2 months with no end in sight, and local communities are continuing to ramp up their resistance. Just the construction of this one frack pad requires huge amounts of materials trucked across the region and over 1,000 vehicle movements (before drilling even begins). Below are listed are some of the companies involved in this fracking construction:
- AE Yates (Bolton) – Primary construction contractor for the PNR site
- Lomas Distribution (Buxton) – Transporting cement from Buxton for site construction
- Sibcas Ltd (Atherton) – Providing portable structures for site construction
- Aggregate Industries (Carnforth) – Providing aggregate for site construction
- Eddie Stobart Logistics (Warrington) – Transporting materials for site construction
- D Morgan PLC (Bolton) – Providing plant equipment for site construction
- A-Plant (Preston) – Providing plant equipment for site construction
- Buckhurst Plant Hire (Waterfoot) – Providing plant equipment for site construction
Blockades are happening outside many of these sites on a regular basis. After the construction phase is over this web of destruction will expand significantly as materials, equipment, and waste must be transported across the country, from as far a Aberdeen, during the drilling phase.
