Cuadrilla Resources drilled an exploration well at Balcombe in 2013 looking for shale oil, but so far haven’t returned or made the results of that drilling public. The conditions of Cuadrilla’s licence (PEDL 244) requires that they flow test the Balcombe ‘2z’ well by 30 June 2019 and drill another well in this licence block by 30 June 2021.
