More Conclusive Proof That Methane Is Leaking From U.S Frackers Wells

DEP Director of District Oil and Gas Operations John Ryder said:

“The department was able to conclusively determine that methane gas from natural gas wells had migrated off-site and impacted private wells serving homes and hunting clubs.”

May 17, 2011 – A citizen complaint in Lycoming County led to XTO Energy (a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil) $95,753 fine.

May 19, 2012 – Bradford County resident Michael Leighton found nearly 20 miniature geysers squirting water and gas several inches into the air, Chesapeake $193,135 fine.

June 14, 2012 – Tioga County a geyser shooting methane-infused water more than 40 feet in the air is discovered after a gas well made contact with an old well dug in the 1930′s, SWEPI (Shell Western Exploration Production Inc) $84,593 fine.
