Who owns the land where you live? Now is the time to find out.
The Duke, whose five estates cover an acreage larger than any other landowner in the UK, has been a consistent opponent of land reform and has been implicated in numerous community disputes in recent years. Last week the inherited estate announced plans to block access to Dalkeith Country Park at night unless walkers and cyclists […]

Thousands of cases of water contamination with toxic and carcinogenic substances caused fracking have been documented including in Pennsylvania
A federal jury ruled on Thursday that Cabot Oil & Gas Co must pay more than $4.2 million in damages to two families in northeastern Pennsylvania who said the company’s fracking operations contaminated their ground water. 20,000 trucks per fracking site. And these are only tests…
Heavy lorries travelling to Cuadrilla’s fracking site at Roseacre Wood would have an unacceptable impact on road safety, the inquiry into the scheme heard last week. Tom Hastey, a transport expert acting for opponents of the plans, said there were 18 points on the proposed lorry route where major accidents were likely. More on this […]
Horse Hill Tight Oil Fracking Threat To The Weald
The recent flow test of a well at Horse Hill in Surrey, targeted the Kimmeridge Clay and deeper Lias shale formations. This “tight oil” deposit is similar to the Bakken Shale in North Dakota. - UKOG will seek further planning permission
- Now is the time to get organised and resist
Now is the time to hit the UK fracking industry with all we’ve got.
With the current price of oil, almost no fracking companies are sinking new wells. The fracking industry requires high oil prices. The industry is being squeezed and for fledgling companies relying entirely on investment cash (like those in the UK) their entire future is looking extremely tenuous.
