Lantern Making for “Robin Hood vs Fracking In Sheffield” (This event has passed)

Stand with Robin Hood in the fight to save Sherwood and all the forests of England from fracking. Robin Hood and his Merrie Band are holding Lantern Parades across the East Midlands to drive out the Sheriff of Frackingham. Book yourself into a Lantern Making Session to create or decorate your own LED lantern to carry in the parade.

All materials provided, suitable for ages 3+, under 10s must be accommpanied by a responsible person. Sessions last up to 60 minutes.

Can we make a lantern together?
Yes, families, couples or friends can make lanterns together from scratch (putting together a willow frame and wrapping it with tissue). Pre-made lanterns will be available for decorating.

Can I join the parade without a lantern?
Yes, please come dressed as a member of Robin Hood’s Merrie Band or simply wear green to celebrate and support the forests.

Can I bring my own lantern?
Yes, but only if it has been made in a workshop led by a professional lantern maker and you get new LEDs from us, available during lantern making sessions, no need to book – just drop by.
(Please note that candles and flame-lit lanterns will NOT be allowed on the parades for health & safety reasons.)

Can I drop in to a lantern making session?
Yes, if there is space we will fit you in, but it is best to book and guarantee yourself a space when you arrive.

Can we have a lantern making session at my Scout group / Women’s Institute meeting / school?
Yes, drop us a message and we will send a pair of session facilitators to you (subject to availability).
