Seismic monitoring is a PR exercise invented by fracking companies to dispel concerns about seismicity (earthquakes) and try to gain social acceptance for fracking in the UK. Seismic monitoring is extremely expensive and will only be used as a “safety feature” while fracking companies are drilling exploration wells. The process of drilling monitoring wells can also cause damage to farmland, tracks, drainage and streams, creating large volumes of waste on many sites. There is also a useful Seismic Spotter Sheet that highlights the signs and activity that indicate that a survey may be carried out in your area.
Use these flyers for raising awareness about Seismic Monitoring in your area (Black & White or Colour). Designed to be printed 4 up, double sided, on A4 paper. If you would like an editable version or a different size please get in touch: firstname.lastname@example.org
